This is a bit for starting barrel training, or on barrel horses that have sensitive mouth that do not need much bit. It is nice and soft, offering complete rate and body lift for turns.
The nice weight of these bits allows or quick pickup and release. Proper adjustment is to tighten the headstall so that there's one wrinkle in the horse's mouth. The curb should be loose enough to allow three to four fingers between the curb and the chin.
Four mouthpieces are offered in each shank style, ranking in this order: Twisted Wire Dogbone, Square Snaffle with Doughnut, Twisted Wire Snaffle, and Small Twisted Wire Dogbone, with the Small Twisted WIred Dogbone offering the most control. The Dee Ring is offered in the Smooth Snaffle and Square Snaffle.
